Weeks-between-dates formula
The calculator first measures the exact calendar-day distance, then divides that number by seven. Decimal weeks = total days ÷ 7. Complete weeks use the whole-number result, and the remainder shows the extra calendar days.
| Start | End | Days | Weeks |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 August 2026 | 22 August 2026 | 21 | 3 exactly |
| 1 August 2026 | 25 August 2026 | 24 | 3 weeks, 3 days |
Worked example
From 1 August to 25 August, excluding the start date, the distance is 24 days. Dividing 24 by 7 gives 3.4286 weeks: three complete weeks with three days remaining.
